Holistic- what does that even mean?

If your health coach, nutritionist, dietician, personal trainer, doctor, or practitioner is not treating you holistically, they may not be giving you the best advice.

What does holistic even mean?

hō-lĭs′tĭk

It is emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts.

We are WHOLE human beings. You are not just your body, or your brain, or your gut, etc. Your body has its interworking parts that make you whole, and they need to work together to function correctly.

Our mind-body-spirit connections are parts of you that make up the whole of you. Though they may seem like three very different systems, they have a lot to do with each other and affect each other each and every day.

  • Are you getting good rest and sleep that allows you to conquer the day with loads of energy?
  • Are you eating a balanced meal with at least 1.5 cups of vegetables per meal?
  • Are you making time for self care or spending time with loved ones?
  • Are you drinking half your body weight in ounces, EVERYDAY?
  • Are you getting in 30+ minutes of movement daily?

If you are not, you are not alone!

With our modern-day lifestyle, it’s very common to have one of these parts of ourselves out of balance. Our lifestyles and habit are what make the most significant impact on our health.

So what can you do to create better health in each of these areas? Work on healing the body as a whole, and surround yourself with like-minded individuals with the same values.

At Tree of Life, we offer Wellness and Weight Loss Programs to help guide you into healthy habits. These are science-based, and utilize genetic testing. When it comes to your health, we shouldn’t be guessing.
