What is an Infrared Sauna and why YOU should use one!

An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses infrared panels or lamps. These are special in that they work by heating the body directly versus warming the air in the sauna the way a traditional sauna does. Infrared is a spectrum of light and its wavelengths are what penetrate the body and create heat. Infrared consists of three different wavelengths; near, mid and far. These wavelengths can penetrate the body providing better results than traditional saunas that just heat up the surrounding air.

Near Infrared: the shortest of the three wavelengths. It penetrates the skin well and is great for cell health, the renewal of skin, tissue growth and wound healing.
Mid Infrared: penetrates a bit deeper. These wavelengths are great at increasing circulation and blood flow. This is helpful for muscle and joint aches and pains. 
Far Infrared: can penetrate into the fat layers of the body. This is extremely helpful for promoting weight loss and detoxification especially. It also aids in reducing blood pressure and promoting relaxation.

Infrared saunas are also able to operate at a lower temperature than traditional saunas. This makes the entire experience more comfortable for the user. Infrared saunas can operate anywhere from about 110° – 160° while traditional saunas can get up to 200°.
